Introduction
One of the challenges faced by athletics sector globally according to Curry (2013) is the breaking of the set rules and regulations by athletes. In most cases, a number of athletes have been reported to have broken some of the set norms that govern athletics while other breaks the normal rules and regulations that govern people within the society as revealed by Pilgrim and Betz (2000).
Body
Although these crimes among athletes are reported just like any other crimes that are committed within different societies, these athletes remain unpunished. They get away with their crimes because they are projected by security officers concerned in order to protect their careers. Others get away with their crimes through corruption and bribery while others hire qualified attorney who twist their cases in the courts, making them win their cases despite effect of the crime on the victims. Withers (2013) found that when no action is taken in the presence of crime among athletes in the name of protecting their career, it makes it difficult for the eradication of various crimes and drug trafficking to be achieved.
