In most cases, the takeover of a company creates a volatile situation. If transitioning of ownership is not well handled, it leads to destabilization of the company, resulting in losses and sometimes, even closure. A transition that is well-handled can lead the company into potentially performing better than it did with the previous management. Thus, the decisions the C.E.O makes are important as they are what determines how the organization transitions.
Employee relationships and Integration.
One of the challenges that need addressing is the cutting of the old staff members and integrating new staff members from the parent company. Cutting staff is a difficult task. Finding the right people to lay off is key. Positions that are negligible and considered as dead weight are key areas where the employees should be laid off. Employees with poor performance ratings can also be laid off, which will help improve the organization’s efficiency.
Integrating the new employees would be a simpler task. Finding the right employees from the parent company would be key. For successful integration, existing employees will be assigned to train them on their roles and to ensure that they are well acquainted with the new workspace.
Technological changes
Technology has changed at an astronomical pace. For organizations, it has made the process of manufacturing simpler and much cheaper. Implementing technology that specializes in the monotonous aspects of bicycle manufacturing will lead to efficiency and effectiveness in the production process. The integration would help in cutting down staff. Technology is also beneficial in that it cuts on the cost of production, thus increasing the profit margins (Taylor & Helfat, 2009).
