Today, McDonald’s serves more than 64 million customers on a daily basis and is the world’s leading fast-food restaurant. Founded by Ray Kroc back in the year 1955, the company has its headquarters in the United States (HYPERLINK "/authors/334-ben-steverman"Steverman, 2010). While the idea of the fast food was Ray’s the McDonalds hamburger chain store was initiated by Maurice McDonald and Richard, who then gave Ray the rights. Throughout the restaurant’s history expanding has been at the core of their growth. As it pushed off the competition to the curb by opening as many branches in the United State and abroad, bringing in new products to the market, the company realized diminishing returns and it shifted its focus to the ones that it had to bring in more revenue.
