This paper seeks to conduct a SWOT analysis of Starbucks Corporation and give recommendation on how to remain competitive in the market in spite of the growing stiff competition in the market.

* Sound financial status and records: the profitability of Starbucks Corporation has seen a tremendous increase over the last few years. It is currently 14%. Starbucks Corporation outshines its closest rivals with 29.16 equity returns and 24.54% investment returns (Yahoo Finance).
* Starbucks Corporation is the world`s largest coffeehouse chain: the company`s over 20,000 coffeehouse operating in over 60 countries provide a broad competition base making it the world`s largest coffeehouse chain.
* Starbucks Corporation experience in the market: the company delivers a strong and unique experience to its customers. The perfect and quality blended coffee, friendly staff, warm atmosphere, and premium music is incomparable and offers a competitive advantage.

Weaknesses
* Product pricing: the company offers excellent customer service and great coffee resulting in high pricing compared to its competitors such as McCafe whose premium coffee was evaluated and priced lower than that of Starbucks Corporation.
* The price of coffee beans which is the main influence over the profits of the company: the price of coffee beans determines the Starbucks Corporation coffee prices and its profitability. The company has no control over coffee beans as a commodity. Starbucks Corporation cannot estimate its profitability as well as the commodity`s price because of the weather conditions, hedge funds and other influencing factors.
