Strategic training and development is a type of training that concerns with offering essential information and tools to employees to enable them work on their tasks efficiently. This creates job satisfaction, enhanced productivity and increased motivation. Development and training is a process adopted to provide abilities, skills and knowledge required to perform particular tasks (Noe, 2010). There are four steps in the strategic training and development process. These are such as business strategy; development dynamics and strategic training; development and training activities; and evaluate outputs, which indicate significance of training.
The first step is business strategy, which involves the direction of defining the organization’s process and developing decisions to manage its resources to achieve the expected goals and missions. Noe (2010) views that business strategy involves establishing fundamental principles that defining expected values to be accomplished and desired missions and goals to be achieved. Business strategy continuously develops skills and knowledge that ensure that the organization accomplishes its goals and missions.
