A brief company overview
Sanofi is a pharmaceutical company whose headquarters are in France. It is among the world's biggest pharmaceutical companies regarding sales. Its main area of specialty is research, development, and manufacture of drugs and vaccines. The company's services are in more than 100 countries worldwide, indicating a huge workforce of more than 100,000 employees worldwide. The three main cogs driving the company's business are; pharmacy, vaccines, and animal health. Most of the drugs the company produces are centered on consumer healthcare, while certain diseases are also researched, including multiple sclerosis and CVD. Additionally, the company's research and development focuses on the study of rare diseases ad how to tackle the same (Bloomberg,n.d).
Company’s customer base. Does the company primarily serve businesses or individuals?
As initially stated, the company is in more than a hundred countries, working on consumer healthcare products and rare diseases affecting the global population. This illustrates that the company offers services to a wide clientele that captures individuals and businesses. Most global pharmaceutical companies have traditionally based their business engagements with governments. This, however, is different from Sanofi. Sanofi has, over the past few years, adjusted its market approach, opting to expand its market outreach by not only focusing on business engagements with governments but also narrowing down to business engagements with individuals. Technological advancements and the dynamic nature of diseases in the current age have meant that the company's customer base continues expanding and morphing.
Using events from the past year, identify at least one obstacle the company faces or might face in the future that could impact its success.
