No quotations are permitted in this paper. Since you are engaging in research, be sure to cite and reference the sources in APA format. NOTE: failure to use research with accompanying citations to support content will result in reduced scoring “Level 2-Developing” across the grading rubric. This is a professional paper; not a personal one based on feelings. It must be written in the third person; this means words like “I”, “we”, and “you” are not appropriate.

BUS520 Case 3
Regression analysis is useful in assessing and quantifying the relationship between two or more variables. Managers can use regression analysis to make predictions, forecast, and support and make informed business decisions. This project will carry out simple and multiple regression to establish what relationship exists between job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
Simple Regression 1
A simple regression models the relationship between two variables to predict the value of one response variable based on the value of one predictor variable. This project generated a simple linear regression using Excel at a 95% confidence interval. The variables chosen were organizational commitment and overall job satisfaction. Organizational commitment is the dependent variable since it is what this project would like to predict or explain. This variable is crucial to a company because it enhances employee productivity, and employee advocacy, lowers absenteeism and decreases turnover (Jay, 2022). Overall job satisfaction is the independent variable since this project will use it to predict or explain changes in organizational commitment (the dependent variable). When workers are satisfied with their job, they will likely establish a stronger connection to the organization they work for. Additionally, some scholars have found that job satisfaction significantly affects organizational commitment (Idrees et al., 2020; Ismail & Razak, 2016; Ebraze et al., 2019). The simple regression output is shown in Table 1 below.

From Table 1, the model has an R-Square of 0.0107. This implies that 1.07% of the variation in organizational commitment is explained by job satisfaction. The model has an adjusted R-square of 0.0044, implying that the model fits the data poorly. A standard error of 1.07 means that the average distance between the observed and predicted values is 1.07. The P-value from the Anova Table is 0.1952, which is greater than the 0.05 level of significance. This implies that the overall regression model is not significant.
The coefficient of Job satisfaction is -0.1181, indicating that organizational commitment tends to decrease as job satisfaction increases. However, since the p-value for the coefficient (0.1952) is greater than the 0.05 significance level, the overall job satisfaction variable is not statistically significant. Therefore, the results from this study indicated that overall job satisfaction did not predict organizational commitment.
Job satisfaction is a significant factor for consideration by an organization's management. The current study found that job satisfaction does not predict organizational commitment. However, Tatar (2020) found that overall job satisfaction predicted organizational commitment. Indicators of satisfaction can be seen through recognizing extrinsic factors like exemplary performance, giving employees vacation and awards for their performance. This increases their satisfaction and may increase their commitment to the organization.
Therefore, managers should adopt strategies that boost job satisfaction and commitment. For example, managers can offer their employees opportunities for learning. This increases job satisfaction and commitment because employees feel appreciated and supported.
