Despite ubiquitous in the business world, change frequently encounters resistance from complex human responses (Blank, 2019). Based on the case, the three primary reasons contributing to such resistance include aversion to novelty or unexpectedness, distrust, and concern over job security or diminished control (Quast, 2020). Among them, the most notable is distrust in my organization, especially after a leadership transition. Al-Abdallah et al. (2023) mentioned that mistrust hinders successful change execution by affecting interaction, collaboration, enthusiasm, and devotion. Based on the case, when team members have not had the opportunity to develop trust with a new leader, even choices that seem rational from my perspective could be viewed with skepticism.
Furthermore, adopting a multifaceted strategy is crucial to address this pervasive lack of trust. I would foremost emphasize the significance of transparency.
