Quality Control Assignment 8
Today's businesses experience extreme competition brought about by numerous factors, including technological advancement, product quality, distribution networks, and customer service. These factors not only determine the quality control of a business but also enhance its competitive advantage. According to Turmidzi et al. (2019), businesses in today's world assume all roles as they strive to ensure that the possibilities are accomplished. The basic concept behind organizational leadership that has incorporated total quality includes the ability to maintain quality products and services offered over time (Turmidzi et al., 2019). This is the role of leaders overseeing all the business processes.
Leadership Impact Ideology for TQ Implementation
Ideology is the systematic body of beliefs or concepts that describes a phenomenon. When implementing a TQ paradigm, it is necessary to consider a leadership ideology that ensures total quality. Implementing TQ processes and mechanisms is essential in delivering quality across all operations. TQ describes a company's culture, attitude, and beliefs to strive and provide customers with products and services that meet their needs (Petrick & Furr, 2017). It is a customer-oriented strategy that focuses on executing customer satisfaction initiatives. Therefore, successful implementation of a TQ paradigm requires leadership impact ideology. Research indicates that leadership influences the organization's vision, goals, strength, values, and purpose (Petrick & Furr, 2017). TQ initiatives will always benefit businesses if implemented correctly and influenced by organizational leadership. For an idea to become part of organizational culture, it must receive leadership support.
The organizational structure is one of the processes necessary to provide an organization with a TQ paradigm. It is a system that outlines how firms direct certain activities to achieve organizational goals (Gantsho & Sukdeo, 2018). This process enables groups to work together to manage tasks. Each team is assigned roles and responsibilities and guided by organizational principles or rules. The process calls for the management to develop leadership and managerial strategies that support TQ standards. Firms can only realize excellence by creating a new leadership style that emphasizes continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, employee involvement, and waste management (Petrick & Furr, 2017). TQ implementation aims to construct the best initiatives and ideas that foster quality improvement.
Another process is organizational culture. It consists of shared beliefs, values, expectations, and practices that guide and inform employees' actions (Gantsho & Sukdeo, 2018). This process defines the proper way to behave within an organization. Several studies have revealed that organizational culture improves service quality, employee performance, and customer satisfaction (Gantsho & Sukdeo, 2018). These concepts act as sources of a powerful competitive advantage.
Companies with an organizational culture promote employee performance, productivity, and engagement. Having a sturdy culture inspires team members to do their best. Other benefits associated with a strong company culture include decreased turnover, strong brand identity, a healthy team environment, and elevated productivity. These advantages facilitate total quality within an organization. Therefore, a leader must establish and nurture a strong culture that focuses on TQ and promotes solid teamwork to achieve organizational goals.
Another process is education and training. Leaders must ensure that the employees receive continuous education and training to understand and keep up with the emerging technologies, competition, and knowledge-base. Continuous learning is a significant element of TQ as it ensures continuous improvement.
