Interpersonal leadership talks about the relationship between the leader and the people around him. Various perspectives and philosophies regarding how a leader can foster ideal leadership heavily depend on how an individual defines “ideal.” Personally, my interpersonal leadership philosophy is influenced by the Transformational leadership philosophy and the Christian faith.
Transformational leadership is the kind of leadership wherein the people are inspired and motivated to create positive changes. This enables a leader to impact the lives of the people, bringing out the best in them. On the other hand, the Christian faith may be viewed as a philosophy that is not for everyone because there is already a discussion of beliefs and religion. However, this has a huge influence on my interpersonal leadership philosophy because of the values and morality that the teachings instill. It is important to have a strong moral compass, knowing to decipher what is right from wrong, good from the bad. Both Transformational leadership and Christian faith create an interpersonal leadership philosophy that promotes holistic understanding and development for everyone in the team.
