Industry Analysis
Perform an industry analysis detailing how the overall industry is performing. Research trends in the industry as well as projections for the future. Remember to cite your research.
Competitive Analysis
Perform a competitive analysis reviewing multiple competitors that offer similar products/services. How is your company different from its competitors? Think about the products/services offered or their pricing strategy or even their distribution strategy. What is the overall brand perception in the mind of the consumer? How does each rank based upon a pertinent parameter?
Your submission should be a minimum of two pages in length, double-spaced with a reference page and title page. References should include at least one additional, credible reference beyond the textbook. All sources used must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations and cited per APA guidelines. The hotel industry is one of the most important industries in the world because it impacts on people’s lives and also impacts on the national economy. The development of technology during the end of the 20th century has seen a rapid development of the service market of the hotel industry. This is true considering the recent statistics where the global hotel industry it is forecasted to generate about $550 billion in revenue in 2016 (Dudovskiy, 2013). The hotel industry is growing rapidly. In particular, the Hilton Hotel, which has the highest global market share, is experiencing quick growth, with its operations mainly concentrated in the United States with minimal presence in the international market.
About trends in the hospitality industry, there are some things that one should take into consideration including customer care, the expectation of more foreign visitors, booking more profitable business, political uncertainty, innovative technology and mobile check-in. The introduction of the visa waiver by President Obama in 2012 has seen a marked increase in international leisure travel. This has resulted in more foreign tourists traveling to the United States. Such a trend has seen an increase of over 80 million visitors into the United States. With such trends, the future holds a lot of positivity for the hotel industry as many people who are making international trips, and there are those who want to tour other countries and experience their culture be it during the holidays or mere family trips.
Competitive Analysis
Hilton Hotel competes on a global platform with key industry players including, Hyatt, Marriott, Starwood Resorts and Hotels, Choices Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels, and ACCOR group.
