Analyze Guiding Principles for Capacity Building
Capacity building in organizations is developing the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that enable people to improve their performance and effectiveness. This process can be individual and group-oriented, depending on the focus of the capacity-building effort. Capacity building is also a way to expand the skills and resources available to an organization or community to better address its challenges. Therefore, this paper will focus on the need for offering employee training and enhancing culturally sustaining practices.
Capacity building is not all about providing information or training. It is about helping individuals, teams, organizations, and other stakeholders to better understand how they can identify problems, develop solutions and implement change (Cruz et al., 2018). Capacity building requires a long-term commitment from all parties involved and should occur as an ongoing process rather than a one-time event. One of the capacity-building activities necessary in the chosen organization is frequent training of employees about the company's processes and new products. The lack of training can lead to inefficiency and low productivity because employees cannot perform their duties well. It is also important that they understand how the company works and what its goals are. Such will enable them to become more productive because they will know what is expected of them (Le Pennec & Raufflet, 2018). The organization has been facing various customer complaints due to the lack of knowledge among its employees. These complaints have led to the company losing customers, which is a major problem. As a result of this, the company is currently facing financial problems. Although it has tried to solve this issue by hiring new staff, it has not been successful because these employees also lack enough knowledge of the organization's processes and goals. The company's management has realized that the problem is not only a lack of knowledge but also a lack of motivation among its employees. They also know that it is important to solve this issue as soon as possible because it will help them improve their performance. Poor performance is a major problem because an organization cannot succeed if its employees are not motivated to do their work. The organization's employees must understand the importance of their roles for them to be motivated, which will lead them to do their jobs well and efficiently.
Among the culturally sustaining practices that could improve employee delivery is taking the time for a daily meeting that focuses on what's going well, what needs improvement, and how employees can help each other. These meetings would provide sufficient information to cover the gaps costing the company money due to poor employee performance (Werdhiastutie et al., 2020). The management team would have sufficient knowledge to facilitate an effective training process. The company should also have regular celebrations of employees' successes. These activities would motivate the employees to become more productive, thus facilitating goal achievement and organizational success.
Another practice is creating a culture where employees feel they are part of something bigger than themselves. The culture would be implemented through training programs to equip the workers with the necessary knowledge to meet the company's objectives. Hiring, training, and retaining people who are pass...
