My topic of interest to study, "The Federal Acquisition Process: Balancing Competition, Planning, and Oversight," illustrates how best these potentially conflicting objectives can be balanced. The acquisition process not only procures the products and services the government agencies need but also protects the public from waste, fraud, and abuse. By examining both scholarly research and government classroom textbooks, I will consider the compromises that exist in acquisition procedures and provide suggestions on how the system can be improved.
