Among the marketing methods is Corporate Social responsibility, CSR. It involves helping the community around the organization or in a country to raise their living standards through funding or sponsoring developmental projects. It also consists of sponsoring children from low background status in their studies. This means that the involvement of other stakeholders is crucial in the success of CSR. However, the need for marketing depends on the kind of service or product that an organization offers. The mining sector elicits several debates on the need for marketing through CSR. I picked this article because it discusses CSR as a mode of marketing in the mining industry. Most times, the mined products are used as raw materials in many industries. This means that the sector does not have to market itself.
