Most companies hire a team of experts, leaders, and other payers to create increased revenue. However, some concepts have been introduced to prevent the detrimental effects of increased desire for the overall company’s well-being at the expense of some parties. Such a concept is conscious capitalism, which demands that companies should not overly commit to making profits. Based on this concept, a company’s directors, following this notion, must not seek to satisfy their shareholders and management teams. Instead, even while pursuing higher profitability, businesses should focus on serving all their significant stakeholders, including the environment, humanity, and employees (Kenton, 2022). As stipulated in this essay, conscious capitalism demonstrates the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the parent company’s board of directors and aligns with the Christian worldview.
Christian worldview principles are dedicated to promoting serving others and generosity. Humanity should not pursue money or material possessions without a higher purpose of serving God. This statement dictates the need for businesses to utilize God-given talents to make rational economic decisions and help others (Gibb, 2021). Christian ideologies demand that people make ethical decisions that help best serve the entire society. After all, all humans were created in the image of God. Therefore, just like conscious capitalism, the Christian worldview calls for an external perspective where individuals, communities, and societies should embrace the norm of serving others. Therefore, both concepts align by advocating for ethical business leadership to help all parties. For example, these ideologies agree that companies should not thrive at the expense of the target customers.
