The advent of computers has greatly affected our day-to-day lives. It is one of the best innovations of the 20th century. Computers use cuts across all areas of our lives especially in work places and schools. Of the many areas computers are used, it has positively impacted the field on education. When computers were first introduced, they could not be used for personal use and were only used in scientific laboratories. Currently, they have changed how teaching is done and have also made it possible for children with disabilities to be in par with normal students. Online teaching has become a very important complimentary way of learning and catching up with what you learnt in class. Earlier on, one had to be physically in class but today, one can enroll in a class at home and obtain a degree (Beardon & Whitehouse, 1993)
Through online learning, one can make to be with his family, as they do not have to be physically in class. This will allow the person to maintain a close relationship with his or her family. At the same time, the person will be able to advance financially as they attain higher levels of learning.
Over the past several decades, the economy has been immensely impacted by development of computers. Jobs have been created due to computers. Development in education and industries is much faster with application of computers. We are able to do a lot of work in less time, which results in high productivity levels hence more profit.
