The case study by Faheem (2008) puts emphasis on project management and flexible work environments as important elements of success in the business environment. Under the leadership of CEO, president, and co-founder Richard Sheridan, Menlo Innovations focused on developing a flexible and collaborative work environment, which became integral to its success. Sheridan prioritized project management and ensured that every software implementation was done through project management.
As seen in the case of Sheridan, the support of top leadership is vital for innovation. Sheridan understood that for innovation to succeed in his company, project management was integral. This focus by the top leadership at Menlo allowed innovation to thrive.
