In marketing, classical conditioning constitutes an archetype of associative learning where the prospective customer's mind is intentionally positioned to associate different feelings or behaviors with brands or products. Many companies use this marketing approach to create an emotional appeal or need for action once the customer sees their product, thus helping to augment their sales or to differentiate their brand. Since the product promoted is incorporated into the ad, the person that watches it is likely to experience a positive experience, thus influencing their purchasing decisions (Leuschen, 2019).
