One of the objectives of this course is to describe ethical issues arising out of artistic expressions (music, in this case), which may include those related to social justice, and may have implications for local and/or global communities.
1.Listen to three songs or compositions which address issues related to ethics or social justice (e.g. protest songs, songs which commemorate struggle, victory or defeat), affecting one or more communities (for example, oppression of communities based on race, gender, belief system, ethnicity, sexual orientation or nationality). – historical or current. These could be the same songs used in previous postings.
2.Post titles/composers/performers source for each recording and, if possible, links to recordings of each.
3.Comment on implications of such songs for the affected communities.
