1. Each of the chapters in your textbook has a Master Student. Review these Master Students and choose one that especially inspires you. Read about that person in your textbook, and then fill out the following: 

Which Master Student did you choose? Lalita Booth Why did you choose this Master Student? (What specifically inspired you about this person?)        (I am looking for a minimum of 1 full paragraph per question) My father always told me that in this world, problems are inevitable. The secret to success, therefore, be it in education, employment or any other life goal depends on how people overcome their problems. After reading about Lalita Booth, I feel like she took advice from my father or that my father’s words were inspired by her. What really stood out for me about Booth is that she came from homelessness (as a teenager) to become a CEO of a company she co-founded. This did not just come up as a fluke. Rather, it was because her determination, despite the problems she faced, to rise up as a master student into a leader of people within an organization. Booth did not let her problems of homelessness or early motherhood, and her ex joining the military leaving her alone to fend for the child. But these were not the only problem she felt. According to the US Department of education, homelessness in higher education is not a myth. Instead, homelessness is a serious problem with over 19% of American college students struggling. According to Karlin and Martin (p. 169), college students facing homelessness face more problems and therefore, are more likely to drop out. But such problems did not deter Booth from pursuing her dreams; the desire to make her life and situation better.  Research the Internet and find two sites on the Master Student you picked.  After reading information on your Master Student from the Internet sites, fill out the rest of this assignment.—remember at least 1 full paragraph per question!
