The instruction is



Assignment: This assignment has two parts. One: Create the Still Life. Two: Write about it.



One: Stage a photograph that focuses on food in your life. You will create a still life of food and food related objects that will connect to you in some manner. This should not just be the last meal you had or the current one you are having. The still life set-up should be more purposeful, intentional. You are to make design decisions while you set up the still life regarding color, value/lighting, balance, textures, repetition, emphasis, movement, etc. Refer to the the Principles and Elements chapter in the textbook. The position of objects, colors, lighting, negative space, values, movement, etc are all important factors in staging your still life.

Questions to answer:

These should be expressed in a one paragraph accompaniment explaining your thought process and how you utilized information from the course for your design.

1.What is important to you?

Content: Is it about how things taste (pleasure)? Is it about nutrition (health)? Are there foods you won't eat? (and Why?) Does your location

affect what you are showing?



2. How are you expressing your content?



Choose a process that makes sense for your content. Look at the different examples of how artists have created work to convey ideas. Is

there one that resonates with the way you think, or that you think would convey your idea?
