Introduction
Visual or written instructions that a tutor uses for the main purpose of teaching are referred to as teaching or learning materials. It is important to note that learning materials play an important role in scholarly work as well as the field of education generally. In the current century, many people or scholars face different difficulties or impairments that may limit what they can achieve. As the education field progresses, there is a need to meet these scholars' needs and hence the need to make changes to the resources for accommodating every scholar. For a scholar's success, this report will detail the purpose of learning materials in teaching and learning as well as the effectiveness of specific resources in meeting an individual scholar's needs (Armstrong, 2016).
In addition, the report points out why the design of the learning materials really matters for the targeted scholars, each with unique special needs from others in the Institution. This report also gives an overview of the importance of learning materials or resources and how, when altered, they can get to meet the needs of scholars with difficulties such as visual impairments. The aim is to ensure there is progress and success for every alteration made and for a new need met. Moreover, this report shows the importance of classifying and storing these resource materials to avoid loss and allow easy access during retrieval. The use of policies for example, may act as a measure to ensure the protection of the mentioned learning resources (Agarwal, 2019).
Task A: The purpose of resources in teaching and learning
In the current developing 21st (twenty-first) century, more and more learning materials such as online sources are coming to light to ensure good performance from scholars. The main aim of any learning material is to provide support in order to ensure educational success for any committed scholar in his or her learning journey. A worksheet, for example, may present a scholar with a new chance to polish a recently learned set of prowess or skill (Armstrong, 2016).
There are different types of resources that are applicable in the learning process, which ensures the elaborate practice of knowledge amongst stakeholders. The understanding level of learners and employees, including their areas of challenge, can easily be identified through resource provision. Those encountering challenges are exposed to differentiated tasks, including additional support on resources. Moreover, the learners can easily access resources concerning the needed additional explanations not covered during learning lessons. Additionally, there is a crucial role that resources play when it comes to avoiding bias and placing much focus in the learning process. The aspect of utilizing resources in the learning process provides some level of advantage since it provides learners with relevant learning activities since the planning is done interactively. The tutors' area of expertise can easily be developed since the provision of the training alongside the understanding of resource materials is made an easy process (Agarwal, 2019).
Scholars also use learning materials such as course textbooks to introduce themselves to new coursework. A teacher will always find it easier to go through a unit or course work that scholars had recently introduced themselves to in order to grasp the main ideas before the lecture. This will ensure a better understanding of the unit or the coursework. Moreover, these learning materials may also act as a source of reference for the scholars during their own time of revision or in the process of application. In providing student or scholar support, learning materials offer a scholar or scholars a chance to put into work or research what they have learned without being accompanied by their tutor. This provides a chance for scholars to try to achieve similar results as proposed by the lecturer or predicted by the coursework (Armstrong, 2016).
Task B: The Effectiveness of specific resources in meeting individual learning needs
There is the aspect of encouraging as well as motivating learners to ensure that they reach the maximum potential within their learning activities. In this case, it important to identify the areas of weaknesses of every learner. Afterward, it is important to enhance the student's abilities for the purposes of strengthening their areas of weaknesses. There are different natures of resources applicable within the learning environment that can possibly satisfy the learner's needs. The application of various resources such as interactive whiteboards, worksheets, and textbooks alongside PowerPoint presentations benefits learners at different capacities within the learning environment (Agarwal, 2019).
As part of the teaching and learning process's main aim, the tutor is expected to evaluate the student's strengths and weaknesses to come up with the best tools that ensure that the student makes positive progress in his or her scholarly work. Focusing on teaching and the application of the required set of skills is one way to ensure that a scholar attains progress. Through guidance and counseling, for example, a scholar can grasp the required expertise to handle a youngster or on how to practice patience when it comes to delicate issues in society (Armstrong, 2016).
To ensure meeting an individual learning needs, the syllabus is expected to be in harmony with the in-here mentioned scholar's potential to avoid a lack of clarity of thought. This is achieved by keenly evaluating scholar individual needs to point out common issues that need to be addressed during the syllabus. A syllabus that addresses the scholar's needs becomes effective since the learners' potential is in line with what is to be addressed to ensure success or progress. It is vital to consider meeting an individual's learning needs to ensure success or progress; however, it can simply be achieved by blending learning resources such as the Internet with the traditional resources. Blending resources ensure an effective learning environment for any committed scholar in his or her work. This strategy ensures there is interaction as well as conceptualization of the coursework in general (Armstrong, 2016).
A call for scholar involvement in difficult activities in the curriculum may also prove effective when the results are in harmony with learning results. These difficult activities and the similarity of the results provide a level learning ground that ensures what is learned is first-hand relatable by the scholar and can be conceptualized in the mind. In addition, coming up with the most suitable, interactive, and involving ventures that can help scholars attain important skills such as remaining calm and pleasant in solving issues can also be effective (Anyanwu et al., 2019). This kind of strategy venture will help eliminate panic and aid the scholar with the know-how to manage infuriating practices or behaviors to avoid suffering from depression in the long run.
Task C: Principles of Resource Design
It is important to point out that attaining all learning wants is the most important principle in all scholarly work and at any level of education. It, however, requires the use of different progressive resources that are to be harmonious with the unique comprehending skills in the lecture room. These progressive resources should be beneficial by being in line with the selected comprehending styles. Provided learning resources in scholarly work, for example, should be easily understood and learned, and hence a family can work on a math problem together. Staying afloat and well detailed on any changes of information to ensure the right message is passed on to the scholar or scholars in regards to vital matters. Modern times present changes in older information as new results from research present new findings that are vital for scholarly work. This makes it important that lecturers and the resource materials are up to date with the important information to avoid passing on older arguments to scholars in modern times (Anyanwu et al., 2019).
Resource materials considered to be hard or intricate easily discourage scholars from using them for scholarly work. The design of the resource materials is very important if they are to be used for any scholarly work in the long run. The resource designs are expected to be considerate on the exhibition, wordings, and word makeup of the whole learning or teaching material. The scholars should not be discouraged at any time from using the resource material. The use of reliable and adequate learning and teaching resources is expected to maintain quality or better standards in scholarly work. In addition, emphasis on the size of the lecture halls or rooms is made to ensure the resources supplied are in line with the numbers demanded. These resources are expected to provide adequate information regarding the coursework and provide high-quality education for the scholars (Anyanwu et al., 2019).
Evaluation of sources that inform resource development in own specialist area
The use of both conventional and casual sources, such as the library or book room for scholarly research, may bring about new, important, and interesting talking points that may soon bring about new findings. These new talk points or arguments, when researched upon extensively, provide unique, individual, and progressive resources in specialist areas such as invention books, for example. Recommending, introducing, and familiarizing scholars to the World Wide Web resources in order to focus on a particular subject matter may also lead to progressive resources in a specialist area (Counsellingtutor.com, 2016). Skills such as behavior direction or guidance may be learned or taken into account, for example, and hence scholars may get to practice these newly learned skills for their own benefit.
Networking with various topic experts can lead to one coming up with progressive resources in new specialist areas. Networking can also offer scholars a chance to join institutions as affiliates or interns to gain prowess and learn more about different fields on the ground, contrary to the lecture rooms.
Task D: Analysis of how theories, principles, and models of inclusive curriculum design can be used to inform resource development in own specialist area
There are various theories, principles, and models applicable in this scenario, for instance, the Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) that helps engage different learning concepts (Lester, 2013). The aspect of addressing learning domains is comprehensively done through Bloom's taxonomy model. Kolb's model applicable in the reinforcement of various experiential learning cycles, while Maslow's theory addresses the different levels of need.
This can be achieved by focusing on the different levels of wants or needs as detailed by Maslow's pyramid to exhibit groups of people with different needs (Lester, 2013). Its purpose is to aid in understanding the steps or procedures on how to treat different people in different specialist areas. In this case, the development of the resources should address the different needs as per Maslow's pyramid to establish that various needs are provided as per different groups being provided counseling and psychotherapy.  Such a process ensures that students receive the necessary assistance to understand the various steps required in working with different groups of people from diverse backgrounds.
As detailed by Bloom's taxonomy, focusing on addressing comprehending domains with the main aim of brain arousal by engaging in challenging ventures can make the scholars or people acquire useful skills such as handling tough circumstances (Agarwal, 2019). This strategy makes it easier for a scholar to handle any tough situation in their own specialist area calmly since they grasped a particular concept from the activities they got involved in.
Further, the promotion of the development of flexible resources that resolves various extended learning opportunities owing to the nature of complexity and requirement of the specialist area that requires extensive supportive resources. In this case, the learners are introduced to internet resources capable of informing specific subjects. Using a virtual learning environment (VLE) helps build a dynamic level of interaction between tutors and learners and among peers. It also assists when it comes to easy access to relevant materials that facilitate program completion. Such can be done through discussion groups, blogs, or chatrooms.
The principles of the curriculum design and resources design
The resource design relating to my curriculum entails various challenging tasks and activities that enable learners' to grow and attain an appropriate level of motivation deal that could easily manage various issues. There is also the aspect of providing pleasure since a good environment impacts health positively (Mitchell and Popham, 2007). There are health benefits associated with outdoor activities, including physical activities that positively impact blood pressure and cholesterol levels. There is the provision that offers opportunities for progress regardless of learner's background, ensuring they are guided appropriately towards securing employment. Additionally, the learning programs are tailored to match various learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses alongside emotional intelligence levels.
Task E: The legal requirements as well as responsibilities that relates to resource development and use
The aspect of development alongside the application of resources requires several legal responsibilities. In this case, the current copyright law within the United Kingdom is referred to as Copyright Act 1998 – The Copyright, Designs, and Patents Act 1988. The provisions provide for the fact that material owners are guaranteed the decision on the rights of controlling and using their resources by third parties. The Act covers different areas that entail public performance, adaptation, broadcast, renting copies for public use alongside issuance. In this case, the owner is provided with the right to acquire copyrights of their works. For instance, the book owners have the right to protect the book content but not the book itself with the Copyright protecting the book's content. Third parties are provided with the rights towards particular ideas within the book but barred from accessing the book content (Agarwal, 2019) directly.
Importantly, in the event that an individual creates work as part of their job, in such a case, the individual is barred from acquiring the Copyright. In this case, the hiring company has to withhold the Copyrights of such a work. However, there are possibilities of an individual possessing his work's Copyrights in the event that the creation took place under freelance work, especially in the absence of agreement between the individual and the company. In case of infringement, only the owner of the work is licensed for the proceedings. Notably, the various intangible assets that include literary works could be retrieved using Intellectual Property Act. There are different areas as encompassed in the Intellectual Property Rights such as patents, trade secrets, and trademarks could easily be applicable at the individual or company level for the work protection. Importantly, the principles of the Intellectual Property Act have existed over centuries (Agarwal, 2019).
The Data Protection Act of 1998 provides exclusive rights that guarantee public processing of data as engraved by the United Kingdom Act of Parliament. Notably, the term privacy does not exist in the Act, therefore, it determines the level of individual privacy concerning personal data processing and applicability. This calls for the necessity of both individuals and companies to comply with the law, thereby keeping the confidentiality of personal information. Moreover, the disabled are under the protection of the Disability Discrimination Act of 1995, this protects against discrimination as it relates to employment, disposal of resources, and provision of resources alongside managing of organization's premises. In this case, all those with special needs are under the mercies of this Act. It determines provisions concerning those with disabilities and assists in forming the National Disability Council. Such regulations are worth considering in the process of resource creation and publications as concerns education. Consequently, the creation of all the resources as applicable by learners should be fair irrespective of existing learning challenges (Agarwal, 2019).
Review of the implications of Intellectual property rights as well as copyright for he resource development and application
The stakeholders within the education sector, teachers and students, are mandated with the responsibility of enforcing the Copyrights Act 1998 as well as Intellectual Property Rights within the learning and teaching environments. In such a case, there is a need to acknowledge the original authors of the various resources. This happens when retrieving information from books, e-books, research articles, and journals to provide support to written thoughts. In this case, it is important to...
