Stalking is a crime in almost every country worldwide, considering that nearly every nation has anti-stalking laws. In the United States and Australia, the governments are very keen on stalking, which is evident in their approach to the overall situation and the penalties for committing this crime. In the United States, stalking is defined as an act of engaging in activities directed towards another person, and the actions may cause reasonable fear of their safety and that of others. On the other hand, Australia defines stalking as the act of watching and following a person as well as approaching them in their place of work, business, or residence to cause harm to them or a third person.
