Hiring people is an important part of ethical stewardship since people are hired based on their skills and the organization's ethical guidelines. Following this, the code of conduct shapes moral conduct inside the corporation. This essay aims to examine the concept of ethical hiring, the distinction between a code of ethics and a code of conduct, the virtue ethical theory of hiring, and the impact of ethical hiring on ethical behavior. Ethical Hiring The ethical hiring process involves hiring or employing people in an ethical manner by exhibiting honesty, fairness, and consideration of human dignity, as opposed to simply complying with the law. M anagers as “ethical gatekeepers” who promote a fair, inclusive, respectful, diverse, and values-driven hiring process as a way to foster trust and ethical awareness (Villegas et. al, 2019). Being fair entails considering all the applicants based on qualification standards and work competency and e ethics in hiring go beyond the bounds of the law to the realm of moral fairness to achieve equity (Alder & Gilbert, 2006). Transparency entails providing applicants with true information about the job, compensation, and organizational values to assist them in making informed decisions. Integrity and authenticity in hiring decisions consider both the applicants’ competency and the organizational values as stated that ethics in hiring assist in enhancing the hiring process through the establishment of moral guidelines (Sang, 2019). Organizations with such values have the power to gain the trust of the public through an excellent ethical standing.
