Global teams consist of members from different cultural backgrounds. As such, the most common issue that project managers may encounter in communication dissemination relates to cultural differences (Smal & Jogeva, 2016). A message, especially one that is conveyed using non-verbal means, can be interpreted differently in different cultures. For instance, maintaining eye contact is considered disrespectful in some cultures and is encouraged in others. Language barrier is also an issue affecting communication dissemination for global organizations. Another issue is the value of time across different cultures. Some cultures value time more than others and are likely to be punctual for meetings and deadlines. This may also affect communication dissemination because the sense of urgency in a message may be interpreted differently. Further, due to distance, project managers do not always get the chance of face to face communication (Smal & Jogeva, 2016). Lack of face to face communication gets in the way of building relationships with team members. 
Being global can affect the communication plan in terms of the provisions for meetings. Due to time differences, having a single meeting can be challenging and as such, the communication plan may need to include information on how members, in the form of sub-teams, will be conducting meetings based on their time zones. The plan has to also put into consideration the time of day for meetings. Despite these challenges, as a project manager, I would enforce effective communication practices by ensuring that I, and other team members, are familiar with the various cultures of the team members.
