Prepare a mediation statement. This activity aims to help you understand some of the key concepts covered in this week's lesson. The mediation statement should be as if you are presenting to two companies, not two individuals.

Companies may have conflicts due to breach of contracts; thus, mediation is necessary to restore a good relationship. As a mediator between Company A, a large aerospace manufacturer, and Company B, a major supplier of aircraft components, I aim to help both companies come to a mutually beneficial resolution regarding a contractual dispute that has damaged their long-standing business relationship.
Key issues
The main issue of the conflict is company B failing to deliver new aircraft parts as agreed per their contract with company A. Company A asserts that the 3-month delay directly led to their inability to meet a major client deadline, resulting in substantial penalties. They seek compensation from Company B for the penalties and lost revenue. Company B argues that the delay was due to an unforeseen internal system error that was outside their control.
