Over the past few years, it has become evident that individuals are feeling more unsafe due to the rapid increase in criminal activities such as fraud, murder, and motor vehicle theft. The government, in return, is responsible for ensuring that persons are secure from danger and harm by embracing things such as replying to emergencies, preventing crime, and providing roads and buildings that are safe to utilize. Even though the law administration or enforcement is actively responding to the crimes, the existing approaches are not producing a substantial decrease in the crime rate. As a result, a research program can offer more comprehensive insights into the possible factors contributing to these rises and acquire relevant information that can formulate policies and regulations to make our neighborhood a haven for everyone.
Research methods in criminal justice provide scholars with the necessary information that helps them solve some of the demanding issues that impact our society. Since the fight against criminal activities is nationalized, states are accountable for preventing crimes via proactive policing and collecting evidence against possible crime culprits (Basilio & Pereira, 2020). Hence, through well-drafted and implemented research, we can accurately examine the effects of policies, daily encounters, and initiatives and see if they can reduce crime rates. The findings from empirical research offer prized information essential for making objective decisions about which measures to incorporate (Johnson et al., 2018). The advantages of these mechanisms could include decreased victimization and cost savings from more effective and efficient initiatives (Johnson et al., 2018). Moreover, the criminal justice system is rapidly changing due to shifts in crime and technology trends. Therefore, criminal justice research would offer criminal justice leaders and policymakers an updated and relevant understanding to solve several hindrances they encounter while dealing with crimes. Criminal justice research could, for example, contribute to new policies that guide officials in solving prevalent problems in criminology.
The scientific method refers to a systematic process of approaching research that ensures the study's results are reliable and accurate. Scientific research also aims to confirm a hypothesis about a given scientific problem (Silva, 2022). I...
