Working with "challenging" patients Please read these articles (Please use them as examples). You don't have to use them in the discussion. You must search and cite two original peer-reviewed articles (last 5 years) from the literature as your original discussion post. In your career, you will encounter that will challenge your clinical and communication skills. Providers may encounter psychiatric conditions that are difficult to treat, or interventions lead to slow progress or very little improvement. Perhaps their level of acuity requires greater clinical time or challenges your clinical thinking and skills. Patients do not necessarily intend on being challenging, but rather their underlying condition highlights the difficulty in managing such cases. Provider, patients, and families need perspective into the promises and limitations of treatment and anticipated outcomes. In this assignment, please discuss diagnoses or conditions that may be challenging to treat. Please explore etiologies and clinical manifestations as they apply to social, educational, family, and interpersonal functioning. All references correctly must be cited in APA style. Please observe conventions of APA style as outlines in chapters two and three of the APA manual. Avoid making your posts article reviews. I am not looking for a summary of an article. I am looking for new ideas to a topic from peer-reviewed articles. If you rehash and reiterate something that was already stated in a post or something basic that we all already know, then you will not gain points. Your posts should be free of bias and opinion. Avoid adjectives like "crucial" and "critical" etc. because in APA, those words must be defined, and because they seem opinionated and biased. Merely state findings and facts.
