A doctor is an individual certified and experienced to practice medicine by promoting, maintaining, and restoring patients’ health. Doctors achieve this through studying to stay updated on emerging medical technology, making diagnoses and prognoses, advising, prescribing, and coming up with a treatment plan for ailments, injuries, and other physical and mental health problems (MedlinePlus, 2022). Doctors may concentrate their care on specialties such as cardiology, dermatology, and oncology, among others, or be general practitioners. Doctors primarily work in hospitals, private or clinical practice, clinical labs, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, research institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
I chose the profession of a doctor, as doctors primarily work to save people’s lives and improve their overall health, so they lead long and healthy lives.
