Question 1
The difference between sportsmanship and gamesmanship is very elemental, and it is at the root of how games are supposed to be played and perceived. Sportsmanship embodies virtues such as fair play, respect for one's opponent, strict observance of the rules and ethos of the games, and gracious acceptance of victory or defeat (Gorgut & Tutkun, 2023). Even if some of these gamesmanship tactics are technically allowed within the rules, they are destructive to the spirit of youth sports as a character-building experience. The emphasis must be on skills, fitness, teamwork, and appreciation of the game.
