Review Communication through the Use of I-Statements

Coursework Instructions:

instructions

This week’s readings and web links provide a myriad of samples of how an individual can take responsibility by using I-Statements. You will now prepare your own I-Statements and submit them within a table.

From your personal or professional experiences, prepare declarative statements that demonstrate an individual escaping responsibility and include in column one of your table. Then, in a second column, turn these statements into I-Statements that demonstrate an individual taking responsibility. Within a third column, justify in one or two sentences why you view the I-Statement is appropriate and/or effective.

Length: A minimum of seven statements that depict an individual escaping responsibility and seven I-Statements that depict an individual accepting responsibility are required. Construct the seven I-Statements in parallel to the seven statements that depict an individual escaping responsibility.

Include a title page, but references are not required. Your response should reflect creativity and contain relative content that is meaningful to you professionally in a workplace setting or perhaps even personally as you engage with family members in your home.

The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course.

The mother, who works overnight, leaves her four-year-old son unattended every night to go to work, and efforts to convince her to find a more convenient job have borne no fruits.

I get profoundly worried every time the mother of a four-year-old boy leaves him unattended to go to work because the boy cries for the better part of the night, and I cannot dispel the thought of something untoward happening to him.
