Proctor & Gamble’s Bounty paper towels has always prided itself as a top shelf brand relying on brand loyalty and offering only a few different product choices. Research has shown that younger consumers are not as brand loyal as older consumers. In addition, younger households appear to be more influenced by price, print selection, sheet count and roll size. P&G has recently faced a decline in sales and an increase of competition. Part of the solution to this issue was the development of Bounty Basic.
There is a significant amount of research information on P&G and the Bounty product line available for your review on-line. Your project is to complete a SWOT Analysis as part of P&G’s strategic planning process.
