One of the funniest and the most embarrassing examples of a "lost-in-translation" ad is Pepsi's "come alive with the Pepsi generation" campaign. Translating an advertisement from one language to another may lead to the loss of the original intended meaning and, in some cases, lead to an unintentional offensive meaning.
