Resources:

You may wonder: “Why am I watching a movie about journalism? This has nothing to do about my kind of communication work.” Yet this movie provides a vivid account of what it’s like to work through a moral problem. Although the central character is about Stephen Glass, your discussion will focus on Chuck Lane. I recommend that you review the discussion questions before viewing the movie.

Lane further seeks to protect Glass from the rest of the staff and proceeds to visit where the story is alleged to have taken place (Baumgarten et al., 2004). After Lane discovers that the story was falsified and re-reads Glass' previous stories and establishes that they were also falsified, he decides to fire the writer.
