The purpose statement is provided in the Background and Rationale: “The trial aims to assess if high-dose vitamin D supplementation has a therapeutic effect in vitamin D-deficient patients with COVID-19” (Jaun et al., 2022). The primary hypothesis is that patients with COVID-19 who are vitamin D deficient will have a shorter hospital stay if they take high-dose vitamin D supplements instead of the conventional treatment.

Participants
