Research critique is an analysis process of evaluating the strengths and limitations of research conducted on a particular topic. The critiquing process involves the evaluation of methods, research questions, and results of the research conducted. The primary objective of critique is to examine the authenticity of the findings in the research conducted. Several items will be evaluated in the research article, for example, research question, methodology, discussion, and results. These are critical components in research, and they determine the viability of the overall research. The objective of this paper is to critique the "lived experiences of surviving in-hospital cardiac arrest." It will also evaluate the integrity of the overall work in the research article.

The authors of the article explained the problem statement in the abstract. They provided detailed information on the issues surrounding in-hospital cardiac arrests.

Literature Review
The setting of the research was adequately addressed, and the research question was analyzed entirely. The topical area was to determine the experiences of surviving in-hospital cardiac arrest (Bremer et al., 2018). The article used an effective sampling strategy to demonstrate the authenticity of the results. For example, the researchers incorporated structural and naïve analysis to show how coherence and security of well-being are affected during the IHCA (in-house cardiac arrest). Sampling is one of the critical elements in the process of determining eligibility if a research question. Participants should be collected in diverse environments since it helps in comparing the results. The research article adhered to this rule. For instance, participants were identified from six hospitals across Sweden. What does it reflect? The sampling strategy addressed the issues of cardiac arrest in different ways. The researchers interviewed the survivors of cardiac arrest plus the families.
The objective of this review is to examine the congruence of the results. However, the article shows that only one woman was interviewed out of 17 (Bremer et al., 2018). It is essential to balance the sampling in order to get unquestionable results. There is always a gap for further study, and participants do not reflect the research question's impact. Different qualitative traditions can be applied in a research study. However, the IHCA study applied the phenomenological study, which entails lived experiences among different people. Therefore, the sampling used in the research questions was adequate since it had many participants from different hospitals. The sample size was adequate and adequate for this particular research study. The aspects of age were also put into considerations during the research.
Review of Theoretical Framework
The research study intended to examine the experiences of IHCA (Bremer et al., 2018). All the participants interviewed were sampled from different hospitals in Sweden. Essentially, IHCA is complex experience-and survivors are constantly struggling to find wholeness after the experience. The research focused on addressing the entire concept of surviving from these experiences. The research also provides an in-depth analysis of the issues surrounding the research study. The methodology applied in this research is aligned with the research questions making the results verifiable. The recovery process is also defined in the research study, it is not easy for the survivors, and sometimes they lose hope and become desperate, especially the old ones (Bremer et al., 2018).
Review of Methodology
The research question was based on IHCA, “lived experiences of surviving in-hospital cardiac arrest.” The research paper was conducted in Sweden, where 18 participants were interviewed to reflect on their experiences (Bremer et al., 2018). Out of 18 participants, only one was a woman. Capturing the phenomenon in research is very critical, and it involves different aspects of events. For example, capturing phenomena involves observations and reports. Ideally, these entities help compile facts in research. The researcher used self-reports to capture phenomena throughout the research. Notably, self-reports may not be adequate for the research study hence the need to supplement the capturing methods. As discussed, the researchers used self-reports to compile information. In this case, they conducted interviews with the IHCA survivors.
Sampling Method
Choosing self-reports on this particular research study was a wise decision since it provided firsthand information. Firsthand information is very significant in every research since it incorporates live interviews of phone recordings. The researchers interviewed different IHCA survivors within and outside the hospital (Bremer et al., 2018). The use of questions is another important factor in every research. It would be illogical to have little or no questions in the research paper. Questions help build confidence and equip the research with relevant information during and after the research. In this case, the researchers on IHCA used different questions to support their conclusions in the study. Some of the questions asked during the interviews include, "tell me what happened when you had your CA? "Can you describe the…" These questions are very critical since they provide researchers with rich responses hence authentic results. Exploring the article, it is clear that these questions provided the platform to get detailed information from the IHCA survivors. Most of the interviews were conducted using narrative interviews (Bremer et al., 2018). Narrative interviews are guides that help in helping the interviewees to open up about a particular topic. It is being an appropriate technique to be applied in this particular research study since it enables participants to choose the pace of the conversation.
