The female gender in the region is surrounded by various issues like womanhood, assimilation, and family. Although women may face various challenges while growing, handling family issues and societal norms, gender remains focused to achieve the best in every aspect of life. According to the articles, women have fascinating characteristics in society than men. The writings of the Caribbean authors were motivated by the fascinating characteristics and the positive impacts brought by gender in society.
The Biography of a Dress describes the life of a young girl living with her mother. Kincaid, 93 reveals the poverty level experienced by the family through the reflection of one cornmeal setting for food continuously. However, the persistence revealed by the mother described in the narration should impact various women going through hardships. This woman never gave up despite the occurrence of various challenges especially the lack of abundant resources to sustain their needs. Women are always trying to achieve perfection in every aspect of life, including house chores.
