South Africa Aids Epidemic Studentโ€™s Name Institutional Affiliation Course Professor Date South Africa Aids Epidemic Recent reports showed that South Africa has the highest number of individuals affected with HIV across the world. For the past 15 years, surveys have been conducted, revealing an increase in the population of people with HIV. For instance, significant findings in 2012 showed an increase in HIV occurrence to 12.2% from 10.6% in 2008 (Zuma et al., 2019). Proposed Interventions Research has displayed that new interventions had been previously employed to address HIV transmission and decrease the adverse effects on the population. For example, Zuma et al. (2019) projected that reliable and appropriate use of condoms has been associated with reduced risks of HIV infection. However, regardless of such efforts, the HIV/AIDS incidence in South Africa is still high. Therefore, targeted interventions, including the increase in testing and counseling services can help decrease the occurrences. Public health should create mobile units to reach remote parts, team up with community agencies for outreach efforts, and integrate testing into diverse settings, such as offices and colleges, to improve identification and treatment. Research provides that misinformation and early AIDS denialism in South African Governmen...
