Business Plan for E-Shopper Mobile Application
Executive Summary
According to a 2019 survey by Pew Research Center, it is clear that over 5 billion people in the world have mobile devices. Approximately half of these gadgets are smartphones (Silver, 2019). The number of people owning smartphones is likely to increase in the future since these devices have become more affordable than they used to be in the last few decades. As such, the growth in mobile technology has significant benefits in all sectors. For instance, businesses can come up with applications that can be used in smartphones to keep in touch with their customers. For this reason, launching E-Shopper app would be the best idea. E-Shopper mobile app is relevant in the current digital market and it surpasses the already existing online applications. The most significant thing about E-Shopper is that customers can access retail stores virtually and chose the products they want without relying on static pictures, which are sometimes deceiving. As such, users of E-Shopper will have an experience that is similar to customers who visit stores physically.
E-Shopper is a mobile application that allows people to do virtual shopping while they are at home or office. Almost everyone in the United States of America (USA) have heard about online shopping. A significant percentage of Americans have used online shopping to buy products or services they want. For instance, some people order pizzas and hamburgers when they become hungry while at home, and they do not want to cook. However, after a critical analysis of Internet shopping, it is clear that buyers do not have the same experience with people who visit the stores or supermarkets physically. For this reason, E-Shopper addresses the problem of not seeing the exact products that one is buying. The mobile application acts as a real-time surveillance camera that shows buyers all the products available in a particular store. As such, it portrays 3D images of products and users can navigate in the supermarket and chose the products available at that moment. Many of the online shopping apps that are in the market do not give the shopper a 3D view of the shop. In other words, E-Shopper mobile app gives its users a shopping experience that is similar to that of buyers who visit the shop physically. Shoppers can buy new products since they can even ask questions about them from experts in real time and watch video testimonials from customers who have used them previously. E-Shopper enables users to access the business premises virtually, and one can do shopping as if he or she was there physically. With the growing number of smartphone users, E-Shopper is likely to have many subscriptions in the USA and globally.
Key Objectives
The primary objective of coming up with E-Shopper is to improve online shopping experience such that people can do it in the same way they visit physical stores and supermarkets. In that case, individuals will no longer find it difficult to navigate different products that are offered by the seller and selecting the ones that meet their expectations. The second objective of E-Shopper is to solve the problem of products comparison. For instance, it becomes hard for someone to compare different types of products in Amazon since one must search for specific commodities independently. The primary priorities of E-Shopper is to facilitate smooth shopping experience. For this reason, the app will achieve its objectives by remaining true to itself and its users. For example, when a mistake occurs, it should be rectified immediately. The software engineers, developers, database expert, and marketer should work as a team to ensure that E-Shopper fulfills its goals appropriately.
E-Shopper is not a mere price comparison mobile application, such as Google Shopping, ShopSavvy, BuyVia, ScanLife, Pricena, ShopMania, or PricePirates. Price comparison is an added functionality for E-Shopper. E-Shopper uses the current technology of 3D videos to solve the problem that many online shoppers encounter of choosing products that do not meet their expectations. Some of the commodities are presented perfectly on websites, but they are different in real sense. By using E-Shopper, people will navigate a shop virtually and choose the products they want and which fulfill their needs entirely. For commodities that require technical explanation, E-Shopper will link potential clients with experts who will answer all the questions asked by customers ((Kostadinov, Mihaylov, & Kirov, 2017)). In other terms, the E-Shopper app gives individuals a similar experience to physical shopping only that they will access the retail stores virtually. When it comes to income generation, E-Shopper will have a small subscription fee for users. Stores will pay for the service depending on their sizes. Moreover, E-Shopper will take a small percentage of all sales made through it. That way, it will generate income to facilitate proper maintenance.
Product and Service Offering
E-Shopper is the mobile app that physical stores, supermarkets, and restaurants need to take their customers’ shopping experience at the next level. The app will be compatible with Android smartphones and iPhones. In other terms, no smartphone user will be left out. Since millennials are conversant with video games, it will be easy for them to understand how to utilize the app optimally. However, a demo of how to use E-Shopper will be available for all people who install the app. The primary service provided by E-Shopper is to enable users to navigate physical stores and supermarkets virtually so that they can choose the most appropriate products that fulfil their needs. E-Shopper mobile app will give customers the notion of being inside the shop where they are purchasing products (Nasir, 2016). Clients will have a chance to communicate to expert of technical products or seller will explain everything about the commodity, and the client can ask any question. For E-Shopper to deliver high-quality services, it will require two software engineers, a database expert, a skilled marketer, a mobile app developer, and an accountant. These people will ensure that the app is running smoothly. If a technical problem occurs, the software engineers and developer will debug the app as soon as possible.
Specifically, E-Shopper app mimics the physical shopping experience. The most significant thing about it is that it can be used in various sectors. For example, car sellers, auto spares, supermarkets, groceries, clothing stores, and electronic shops can use the app. E-Shopper will link customers with delivery services. When a person buys products in a supermarket, if the store does not offer delivery services, E-Shopper will give the buyer a chance of choosing who they want to deliver their products. Some people might wonder how the payment will be done by using E-Shopper mobile app. Currently, the technology offers different payment methods, such as credit cards, mobile pay, and online banking (Moorhouse, Dieck, & Jung, 2017). E-Shopper app will incorporate various payment methods to make it easy for both buyers and sellers. The app will be light so that it can run on different smartphone versions without downtime. Moreover, it will be upgraded regularly to close the possible security loopholes that hackers might use to access customers’ profiles. Users will not be allowed to deposit and keep money on their E-Shopper portal to avoid cases of a system breach. For this reason, individuals will pay directly from their mobile wallets, credit cards, or online banking. E-Shopper app will link sellers with potential buyers. For the first 10,000 people to download the app, they will not pay the installation fees. However, as the number grows, there will be a small subscription fee. Furthermore, sellers will be required to pay a small percentage of the sales made using the app.
Market Opportunity and Analysis
The market for E-Shopper is broad, and the demand for this mobile app is likely to grow as time elapses. Cydney Hatch makes it clear that in 2019, e-commerce sales amounted to $3.5 trillion globally. The number is expected to increase to $4.9 trillion by the end of 2021. In the USA, online shoppers are projected to reach 300 million in 2023, which is approximately 91% of the entire population (Hatch, 2020). As stated earlier, many people can now afford to buy smartphones and get connected to the Internet. The emergence of coronavirus pandemic has hastened the rate in which businesses will take to adop...
