Hello, everyone. This is X. Today's video is a vlog where I will share thoughts about leadership concepts based on our weekly lectures and workshops. Many of these theories and models helped me to learn more about leadership and made me consider how these theories can be implemented in modern organizations and future leadership positions. Some ideas I will elaborate on are Traits and Behavioral Theories, Contingency Theories, Kurt Lewin's Leadership Styles, and the Personality Theory, commonly called the Big Five Model. The concept that perhaps interested me most has been the Trait and Behavioral Theories. I selected these because they present two views about leadership, whether inborn or developed through training. The trait theory provides insight into the personal characteristics of leaders or managers, such as charisma, intelligence, and confidence. I found this theory interesting because it presupposes that people may be born with the traits that would fit them for leadership. However, the behavioral theory differs from this notion because leadership is not a character issue but what people do, and this is a modern approach. Leadership skills, it asserts, can be learnt, including communication, delegating tasks, and building cuff teams. Concerning the organizational practice, I have noticed some advantages and difficulties. On this premise, Trait Theory is useful since it enables organizations to determine leadership traits early, for instance, in succession planning. However, this is a challenge because it will help to bring bias and reduce diversification within the leadership domain. For instance, organizations might inadvertently staff outgoing or eloquent people while denying recourse to those with potential leadership in other styles. Moreover, Behavioral Theory is more liberal, open to change, and embraces the people's participation in the organization's management. This is because it can enable organizations to nurture leadership capabilities in a larger pool of employees, which could be very useful. However, the issue here is the time and efforts that must be devoted to teaching and cultivating proper leadership behaviors across all the employees. Stepping into my dream of becoming a financial analyst, I appreciate that Behavioral theory suits me better. In financial management, leadership manifests in decisions, teamwork, and strategic planning. Forget about being friendly; instead, focus on the things and steps that lead to success.
