Proposal Training Program for Rank One Computing
Rank One Computing is a software development SME based in Denver Colorado that develops and markets advanced computer vision and biometric algorithms. The enterprise was founded in 2015 and employs at least 20 employees. Notably, the company established its East Coast Center of Excellence in Morgantown, West Virginia in 2022 to serve as the center for research, development, and collaboration (PR Newswire, 2023). The proposed formal training program will seek to improve the skills of the employee based at the Center. This proposal details the proposed training program that should be implemented by Rank One Computing.
SWOT and Needs Analysis
Rank One Computing, founded in 2015 has established itself as one of the market leaders in the development of advanced computer vision and biometric algorithms. To this end, the company has relied on its ethical development practices to create a range of products and services that cater to the evolving security and privacy needs of clients in both the public and private sectors. In 2022, the company inaugurated its East Coast Center of Excellence in Morgantown, West Virginia, further solidifying its commitment to innovation and increasing its competitiveness in the market.
To determine the ideal training program, it is essential to review the strength and weaknesses of the company as well as the opportunities and threats that the company face. Rank One Computing boasts numerous strengths including its innovative and industry-leading technology solutions in computer vision and biometric algorithms, a strong commitment to ethical development practices, and an expanding range of full-stack video security and real-time analytics tools. Additionally, the company has a skilled workforce and has established the East Coast Center of Excellence to focus on research, development, and collaboration. However, certain weaknesses need to be addressed. Notably, the company is still new in the market and has a limited employee base of less than 25 employees.
Several opportunities present themselves for Rank One Computing. To this end, there is a growing demand for advanced security and privacy solutions in both public and private sectors, which presents a chance for the company to expand its product portfolio to cater to emerging market needs (Edwards, 2022). Furthermore, collaboration with academic institutions and research centers can enhance innovation, and global expansion can allow the company to tap into international markets. On the other hand, Rank One Computing faces threats such as intense competition from industry players like 360 Biometrics, Artec Europe, CyberExtruder.com Inc, and Exposing.ai, rapid technological advancements requiring constant adaptation and innovation, and increasing regulatory scrutiny and compliance requirements in the field of privacy and security.
Based on the SWOT analysis, it is evident that Rank One Computing has a strong foundation and immense growth potential. Nonetheless, there is a need for the company to leverage its strength and address some of its weaknesses to maintain a competitive edge and address emerging market needs (Shastri, Hoda, & Amor, 2021). To achieve this, Rank One Computing should consider implementing an Agile and Scrum Master Training program for its employees. As noted, the company must enhance its ability to serve emerging market needs. The proposed training would not only address this training need but would also help the company maintain its leadership position in the computer vision and biometric technology market while fostering a skilled and well-equipped workforce.
Budget
The proposed Agile and Scrum Master Training program for Rank One Computing's 12 employees would require a cost investment of US$ 17000.
