RESEARCH PROPOSAL
The topic that I chose to go with focuses on revenge. There are many types of revenge, but the one that I chose to focus on is predator/prey revenge. This type of revenge is actuated by parties seeking justice for harm caused either physically or psychologically. The main aim of this type of revenge is aimed at turning the tables and shifting the power balance. This type of revenge usually leads to a cycle where the prey turns predator. This type of revenge is evident in the text when Dr. Frankenstein goes after the monster for killing his family. He takes a sledge and goes after the monster in the snow where he ultimately meets his end.
In the modern day, the theme of predator prey revenge is rampant. A great example of this kind of revenge is the march on the capitol in January 5th and 6th in Washington. This event orchestrated by Trump supporters who were violently opposed to the results of the 2020 elections. The armed supporters marched to the capital state building seeking vengeance for what they deemed were rigged elections. They wanted Trump sworn in instead of the winner president Biden.
