CSR helps organizations pay a closer attention to the issues affecting people, profits, and the planet. This is a triple-bottom-line approach to organizational management, which focuses on helping the organization achieve sustainability by addressing emerging concerns in its social, ecological, or financial factors (Barić, 2017). CSR is more of a self-regulatory mechanism for businesses to ensure they go beyond their legal obligations to adopt a moral perspective on their operations. Widespread discussions of issues such as climate change and wide coverage of corporate scandals in the media have resulted in the need for a more sustainable approach to doing business. Customers and the public, in general, are more inclined towards associating with businesses and organizations that are ethical and those that are responsive to emerging needs in society, such as climate change (Barić, 2017). This has put a lot of pressure on corporate executives to adopt a social responsibility to thrive in the long run. Moreover, CSR is vital for competitiveness. Businesses can use CSR strategically to develop a competitive edge that will drive them to success in their respective industries. Statement of the Problem (Why the Study is needed) A lot of attention in CSR strategies tends to focus on environmental issues, business ethics, and encouraging organizations to participate in improving the welfare of the communities they serve (Santana, Morales-Sánchez, and Pasamar, 2020). However, a key part of CSR that is often neglected is human resource management. Employees are an important stakeholder group in an organization because of their role in implementing the organization's agenda daily (Santana, Morales-Sánchez, and Pasamar, 2020). By focusing on employee welfare, an organization will keep its workforce happy, motivated, engaged, and satisfied. This will, in turn, be reflected in improved organizational performance that will boost profitability and ensure the organization's objective on the other aspects of the triple bottom line are met both in the long term and in the short term. Therefore, this study hopes to shed more light on how organizations can use CSR strategically to manage their workforce. Research Aims and Objectives This study's primary objective is to highlight how organizations can achieve their triple bottom line by strategically using corporate social responsibility approaches to improve the welfare of their workers. Employees are important stakeholders in an organization, and attending to their needs can significantly more organizational performance while also positioning the organization strategically to achieve its other objectives.
