Tesla should quickly and effectively respond to the issue of racial discrimination. Usually, the pressure Tesla receives from the press on discrimination will have an eternal negative impact if the problem remains unaddressed. The press's concern is of paramount importance and should be positively received by its management since the media is part of any organization's stakeholders. The company should create a culture where managers, directors, supervisors, and the general employees coexist peacefully. Discrimination based on race, gender, and power affects the company (Levin, n.p). First, workers who are always discriminated against due to their being members of a minority group and gender do not show loyalty.
Consequently, the general performance is reduced, and so is the company's profitability. If Tesla and SpaceX fight racial discrimination, they will have solved the issue of diversity. Employees from diverse cultures form the best teams, communicate effectively to one another, and are productive. When the public learns about the organization's workforce's positive changes, it rewards the business with loyalty, increasing its loyalty.
However, Tesla should do this silently without going publicly. There are some reasons why the organization should not publish its report on diversity numbers. First, the current diversity number is low, and therefore, publishing it will provoke severe criticism, which might, for a long time, destroy the company's reputation. If the company gives in to the public's pressure, the diversity number may comprise people whose experience does not meet its required standards. Therefore, the company should look for experts, both male and female, who will positively impact its growth and business operation.
