Description

Using the information you collected in your “Basics” paper and the feedback you received from your Paper Proposal, you will craft your three full-length arguments and then add your personal thoughts in the fourth, and final, section of your Research Paper. “Research” is an important part of a research paper. So, make sure to investigate your sources carefully and cite them appropriately.  Instructions Research You must have at least three different sources in your Works Cited page(s). The textbook, Bible, Quran and Torah can be used in your paper but will not be counted toward your three sources.   While internet resources have become popular, material on the internet is not always reliable from the perspective of scholarship. To receive full points do not use material which is not academically viable (i.e., wikipedia, non-academic sources which represent a non-scholarly position). You are responsible for the academic credibility of the work you are citing. If you are in doubt, check with your instructor or a University librarian (see the Research Paper Resource Links).

Content

Explicitly mark each of the four following sections in your paper with the indicated Roman numeral to serve as the Section Heading. Each section should be 1-2 pages in length. I. Argue that O’Hodos was a proto-Christian sect. II. Argue that O’Hodos was a Jewish sect. III. Argue that O’Hodos was a proto-Islamic sect. IV. Express your personal thoughts about our ability to view this group through the lens of all three faiths. Use the information you collected in your “Basics” paper and the feedback you received from your Paper Proposal to help you craft your arguments and personal thoughts. You have the freedom to draw upon any foundational material that will help you make your case for each section. One simple way to approach this paper is to use everything you know about the Christology, theology, practice and customs of O’Hodos and compare them to each of the three religions.  Note: All work must be your own! Use quote marks, footnotes or endnotes to indicate use of any other materials. Formatting Your research paper must be formatted in the following way to receive full credit: • Use complete sentences with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.  • Use 1” margins and 11pt font (Calibri, Arial, or Times New Roman only). • Your paper must be 6-8 pages of content in length. This length does not include your Works Cited page(s).  • Use MLA for your citations and Works Cited page(s).

Besides, such an approach allows an individual to acquire or gain much insight and nuanced through mush complex understanding of the several religious traditions that uncover new perspectives and insights that one might not have otherwise considered. For instance, if a person views the O’Hodos as primarily a sect belonging to the proto-Christians one might end up downplaying or overlooking their special practices and beliefs that do not neatly fit into such categories. In essence, others consider it important to approach that such studies like the O’Hodos would have an open mind with the willingness to apply or even consider multiple perspectives.
