Researching the market will help you understand the market segment you are interested in for your career. You will use a systematic and targeted networking process to help you define your key strengths for the market and where your best opportunities lie. The market intelligence you gain will help you see connections between the needs of the marketplace and your capabilities, that is, to describe the match between the buyer (a potential employer) and the seller (you).
Gathering market intelligence is a three-step process (Right Management Associates, 2004).

Upon my graduation, I am interested in working with Adidas Company, whose headquarter is located in Herzogenaurach in Germany. The Company deals in manufacturing and supplying a range of sports equipment, footwear, and sports shoes for games. Notably, the Company was founded by Adolf Dassler and his brother Rudolf in July 1924, yet currently contains over 100 subsidiaries with a focus on particular markets across various nations (Zhang, Huang and Nauright 85). Compared to other business entities, Adidas has had various rivals as far as gaining a larger market share is concerned. In that case, Adidas has always used strategies of sponsoring sports participants and tournaments with the intention of outstanding its competitors.
