Mythology in Ming Dynasty
The Ming dynasty was a period with a lot of mythology, which helped the rulers control their population. The Ming Dynasty was a period that ruled China between 1368 and 1644. Several mythologies are related to the Ming Dynasty. One of the familiar mythology that existed during this period was that God ordained the Emperor. The people had to respect the Emperor because he had the same powers as the gods. The Emperor was instrumental in ensuring a solid army could defend the country against invasion from the neighbors (Smirnov 2). The Emperor was also aware that he would be able to sustain the mythology about him having supernatural powers with a strong military which would crush any resistance against his rule.
The other mythology was the belief that dragons had some powers in the control of nature, especially the water. As a result, there were a lot of vessels and artifacts that were decorated using dragon figures. The objects used during this period had much significance in how people decorated their art. The people used art to make sure that they respected the myths taking place in the country. There was also another mythology in the nation where people could not talk about other individuals if they were dead. The myth played a crucial role in ensuring that people were respectful of the laws put in place when a leader could not do his work.
