How to Live to be 100+: A Summary

Guidelines:

Take notes as you watch the video - creating a diagram of the ideas may be useful

Identify the gist and the group the most important pieces of information together to create sections with common claims or purposes (e.g. introduction, benefit 1, benefit 2, implications).

Use paraphrasing effectively and appropriately

Write a clear and informative first sentence that captures the main idea of the article

Choose appropriate reporting verbs to use in signaling phrases

Provide accurate in-text citations

Create a reference list following a chosen citation style

Write in an academic style

Be objective and avoid including your own opinions

Summary contains main ideas and is accurate, objective and informative

Effective first sentence in summary

Appropriate use of reporting verbs and tenses

Accurate in-text citations and reference list

Organization and flow

Effective grammar use

Effective use of academic vocabulary
