HOW THE A.I. CHANGE THE HUMAN’S LIFE
Introduction
Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) can be described as intelligence that is displayed by machines. It is the use of devices which are considered as intelligent which adapt to the environment in a way that enables them to increase the chances of goal achievement. The term was developed upon the creation of devices that seemingly mimic some of the functions of human minds (Boutilier, 199). AI can be characterized by the development of objects/machines that perform various functions, e.g., understanding speech, autonomous cars, strategic gaming amongst other functions. Machines are competing with the human brain in the performance of these functions. The development of artificial intelligence has affected humans in various aspects and levels of their lives. Machines are being used to perform various functions which help them make work easier for man and increase the output from the actions. Machines have been integrated into the communication sector, transport sector, they are even being used to perform some duties which were being done by man — for example, the development of robots which are being used to do some office duties like a receptionist. The development of artificial intelligence is a process dated back to the 19th century. In 1956 it was adopted as an academic discipline. Over the years there has been significant progress, and there are still projections of more to be done. Adoption of A.I. has impacted human life in various aspects.
The invention has been made over the years, from facial recognition scanners to voice recognition scanners which are operated upon recognizing the face or voice of an individual. Robots are being developed and even being equipped with cognitive functions so that they can offer companionship to a person. A time is coming when a person’s face will need the ATM Card or driving license or identification card — a time when an A.I. system will be able to identify the likings and moods of a person. All these are the projections of the A.I. industry. However, there are still questions on this artificial intelligence (Steels et al., 65). Will it be able to bring machines which can show emotions like love? Discussed below are some of how A.I. has changed, is changing and is expected to continue changing human’s life.
How the A.I. change the human’s life
Smart virtual assistants
A.I.’s is being used to develop a virtual assistant who will be owned by people. The personal assistants will be very smart and will continue getting smart as time goes by. The reason is that they are equipped with programs that enable them to perform most of the functions as a man sometimes even better than man. Also, they are equipped with programs that enable them to learn new things. As time progresses, they will be able to learn the routines of people, their likings and behaviors. They will then mimic this, improve where there are deficiencies hence become better than humans. In the future, it is estimated that everyone will own a personal assistant who will serve them according to his or her wishes and wants. They will change human lives in that people will depend on them for their services.
Education
Artificial intelligence is changing human life in various ways, starting with education. In the past, education was about going to school with books and pens. However, this trend is changing, and more technological ways are being adopted. Students are using computers in their studies. Future developments indicate that there will be available machines that will help people in learning. Education programs on robots will be put to help people develop their skills and also learn new concepts like mathematics (Ghahramani, 452). A.I. will also change human life where people will be able to learn on anything even when not in school since the machines which will be adopted as personal assistants will be equipped with these programs.
Make the life of a human is easier
Developments on A.I.’s have been made and are still being made to make the life of human’s easier by enhancing task performance. For example, the use of voice-based gadgets. In a person’s house, a person will only say a word to start music, or switch on music, or make a call. Voice-based gadgets will help in ensuring that people can perform various tasks with the least effort. There is also the use of facial-based gadgets which will make it easier to do things — for example, a door that is unlocked by recognizing the face of the owner of the house.
Enhanced goal achievement
A.I. has changed the human’s life by promoting the achievements of goals. Machines are fast, effective and efficient in the way they do their things.
