Saint Vincent Hospital Original vs. Revised Menu
One of the main problems in hospitals these days is that the menu served in its cafeterias contradicts the mantra of living a healthy life CITATION Axend \l 1033 (Axe, n.d.). The neglect of hospitals, health providers, and even the government to impose that hospital cafeterias have been an issue that is unfortunately, taken for granted in many ways. As compared to the original menu of Saint Vincent hospital as presented above, this new menus puts more focus on the health, nutrition, and other medical issues that might be present for any client. As compared to the original menu of a typical Mid-west hospital, more focus is given to gluten-free options and healthy drinks such as water, milkshake, and seltzer as compared to the typical soda. This revised menu is also better because it does not neglect the cultural factor that Midwestern’s want more comfort foods. Thus, in the revised menu, comfort foods were presented in a more healthy way (E.g. Veggie meat). Such an example would be veggie meat which taste exactly like meat but is made from vegetables.
